IPMS/USA R-12 October 2008 Newsletter
Howdy R-12,
It’s been brought to my attention that the web mail system that I’ve been using for my Regional Newsletters has changed the look of it and make it larger than the computer screen allows. So I will now write them as a Word document and send it as an attachment. I hope that this will make it easier to read.
OK, now we all know that the re-charter season is upon us. As of 28 October, Region 12 has 11 out of 17 Chapters that have completed the renewal!! That is fantastic guys, thank you for working hard in getting it done. As of today, 29 October, if you haven’t renewed yet, you only have 42 “work days” to get it done. If you need any help in getting your re-charter completed, please contact me ASAP and I’ll do what I can.
I hear you say that November has 30 days and December has 31,that’s 61 days; how do we have 42 days left? Well, you have 3 Federal Holidays and 18 weekend days. I’m not counting the time around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years’ that no work will be done. So time is running out. Extensions will not be given. So if you wait until January, you will loose your IPMS Insurance for meetings, be taken off the IPMS/USA web site, loose your “Chapter joined on date” (it would be a shame if you have an old date and loose it) for example. If you do re-charter in January, then you’ll be a new chapter.
If you want you may do as other Chapters do, some list just a Chapter Contact and the rest are members’ at large. This can help get you by the “waiting for elections” situation. It’s legal, so you might want to go that way if you need to.
On 8 November, the Fayetteville, NC chapter is hosting a contest. I will be holding the Fall Business Meeting at 11AM at the contest location. I hope to see 17 smiling faces (representing each Chapter) at the meeting. Don’t worry, I won’t take long and keep you from the vendor room.

I would like for each Chapter to please list with me a “deputy Chapter Contact”. It might be your President or other responsible member, just someone that I can contact if I can’t get with you. You never know what might happen. Heck I was almost taken out twice today going to and from work!! So please let me know who it is.
OK my friends, I’ve rambled on long enough. I hope to see you all at the Fayetteville contest. Drive safely.
Timmy
