Its getting closer and closer. I hope by next week I will have my first set of 3 decals in hand. Jon Bius has been working my web site and receives the good guy of the year in my book. As a mater of fact I think I have been slowing him down. This is where you will find the site:
I now have been working on the instructions sheets for MMR and Stuff. And over the weekend I came up with the name of the line of decals and a logo. Bombshell Decals this seem appropriate considering I will be concentrating my efforts on subjects with girly nose art.
This is B-25J 9D #43-27638 "Briefing Time" of the 340th Bombardment Group, 489th Bombardment Squadron at Alesani, Corsica. I'm not sure why the name "Briefing Time" has been rubbed out on the side of the plane but there is a reference in the 489th Bomb Squadron Book about the crew chief, Joe Moore changing the plane's name from "Briefing Time" to "Quitting Time" after the war. Perhaps this picture represents the beginning stages of such a makeover.
B-25J based at Falconara, near Ancona, in Italy, just at the V.E. (May 1945). It belongs to the 12th AirForce, 321st BG, 447th BS, as indicated by the individual number 50. Squadrons of this Group previously had white Roman numerals (shown at bottom) on the tail.
Research and more research! I spent most of the day researching Stuff I had a hard time locating the serial number for this plane, but I found it. This plane is from 321st Bomb Group 446th Bomb Squadron. I can't find much about her combat record or crew. But what great nose art.
